ART280 INTRODUCTION TO PHOTO AND VIDEO
FROM TYPOLOGY TO VIDEO:
Students choose one subject to document with a formal compositional strategy in order to develop a consistent typology. After an in-class discussion, students expand on their original idea by developing a research question about their subject. This research is then developed into an audio-visual moving image. Objectives: To develop an artistic practice that involves a foundation in research, use camera controls to keep composition and lighting consistent across typology, understand basic sound recording, introduce non-linear editing. Students may continue expanding this project for their final in ART280.
